When lead nitrate is mix with potassium iodine, a precipitation reaction occurs and yellow precipitate of lead iodide is formed.

The equation for this reaction is

Pb(NO3)2 + 2KI -----> PbI2 + 2KNO3.

This is an example of double displacement reaction
