Low blood oxygen levels do not instruct the brain to increase the rate and depth of breathing. Rising levels of carbon dioxide trigger deeper breathing.
Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. This is because when we breathe deeply, it sends a message to the brain to calm down and relax. The way we breathe affects our whole body. Breathing exercises are a good way to relax, reduce tension, and relieve stress.
