When the air is free from impurities the colour of the sunset looks yellow , Why does it happen

At time of sunset, sun is at horizon and thus sunlight has to travel larger distance.
When sunlight travels through atmosphere from horizon the shorter wavelengths of light i.e. blue colour gets scattered thus leaving behind yellow, red and orange light that enetrs our eye.
When the sky is clear free from impurities the sky appears yellow. If the sky contains dust particles then sky appears reddish in colour because sunlight gets scattered through more due to presence of dust particles which are effective Tyndall scatterers.
