Following were the aims and objectives of the League of Nations:
- Prohibition on secret treaties or alliances between states.
- Discouraging member states from maintaining large armies, warships and destructive weapons.
- Respect among the states for each other’s independence and sovereignty.
- Referral of disputes by the member states to the League of Nations and peaceful settlements of the same.
- Corrective action by League of Nations members states against any single state or a group of states disturbing world peace and order.
- Promotion of cultural, social and economic cooperation among the member states.
