what is the work done by the force of gravity on a sattelite moving around the earth. justify answer

The total Work Done by the force of gravity on a satellite = total Binding energy of the Satellite

Numerically Work Done is equal to = - GMm/2r

Where : G - gravitational Constant = 6.67 x 10-11N m2 Kg-2  
               M - Mass of the Earth
               m -Mass of satellite
               r - Distance from the centre of the Earth.
