DNA copying in reproduction helps in maintaining all the basic features of the organism intact and its transmission through the future generations. DNA contains genes which code for all the proteins in the body, which in turn determine the design, structure and functioning of the various organs and systems; thus DNA copying maintains the organism has the same set of genes and perform all body functions normally.
