Bio-fuels are the main source of energy for cooking and other household use in rural areas and even many semi-urban areas. Households using firewood, crop residue and cow dung are considered as those consuming bio-fuels.

On the other hand sources of energy used inurban areas are primarily petroleum/petroleum products, lpg are prime suppliers of energy in urban areas.
