Organic chemistry is that branch of chemistry that deals with the structure, properties, and reactions of compounds that contain carbon.
Saturated hydrocarbons with open carbon chain are alkanes. These have the general formula CnH2n + 2, where n equals the number of carbon atoms.
Hydrocarbons with double bonds make up the alkene family. Alkenes have general molecular formula CnH2n .
Ethers are organic compounds with a functional group -O- attached with alkyl group on the both sides.
