what is lung alveoli? plz explain with diagram.

The alveoli (singular alveolus) are small balloon-like or sac-like structures present at the end of each alveolar duct. These alveoli inflate and deflate with inhalation and exhalation. Gas exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place across the membranes of these alveoli.
