What fundamental changes were brought by the policies in the structure of the Indian economy?

The policies of the colonial government in India were to promote the interest of their own nation rather than the development of the Indian economy. Impacts of these policies were that India became the supplier of raw materials and the finished products from Britain. Growth of an economy was not sufficient to the meet the requirements of each and every sector.
