Factors to be taken into consideration to view the pole star at your place are as follows:
a) You can find the pole star by looking at two constellations called the Great Bear and Cassiopeia.
b) If you only see the Great Bear, find the two stars on its head that are farthest apart forming a rectangular head.
c) Extend an imaginary line from these two stars.
d) The pole star will be along this line, about five times farther from those two stars.
e) If you only see Cassiopeia, look at the middle star and extend a line from it to find the pole star.
