Bohr's second postulate of quantisation says that the allowed values of angular momentum are integral multiples of h/2π.
Hence
Above equation that express the condition for angular momentum quantaisation is rewritten as below
Hence the first part of question is proved.

3rd excited state n =4; hence three transitions are possible (i) n=4 to n=1 (Lyman series), (ii) n=4 to n=2 (Balmer series) , (iii) n=4 to n=3 (Paschen series)
