The total surface area of a solid right
circular cylinder is 231 cm2. If curved surface area is two-third
of the total surface area, find the radius of the base.

Expert Answer
CSA = 231 = 154 cm2
We know:
TSA = CSA + 2 area of base
2 area of base = (231 - 154)
2 area of base = 77
2 r r = 77
r = cm = 3.5 cm
