The sum of two numbers is 80 and the greater number exceed twice the smaller number by 11.Find the Number

Let the two numbers be x and y such that x > y.
According to the question, x + y = 80 ... (i)
And, x = 2y + 11 ... (ii)
Subtracting (i) from (ii), we get
-3y = -69 i.e. y = 23
Substituting y in (i), we get
x = 57
Hence, the two numbers are 23 and 57.
