The answer to the question mentioned in the snap is as follows:
The Question is -
The mass of chlorine nucleus is 34.98 a.m.u. Calculate the binding energy per nucleon of the nucleus.
Solution:
Mass of nucleus = 34.98 amu
Atomic number Z = 17
A= 35
mp = 1.007825
mn = 1.008665
Mass defect Δm= Zmp + (A-Z) mn - M
= 17 (1.007825) + (35-17) x 1.008665 - 34.98
= 0.308995

Thus, Binding energy per nucleon = Δmc2/A = (0.30899 × 931)/35 MeV =8.219267 MeV
