Expert Answer
Line passing through (x1 , y1 ) and (x2 , y2) is :
hence line passing through (1,2 ) and (-1,5) : y-2 = [ (2-5)/(1+1) ] (x - 1) or (y-2) = (-3/2)(x-1) or 3x + 2y = 7 ...............(1)
equation of the line parallel to eqn.(1) is 3x+2y = k .....................(2)
where k is constant to be determined.
line given by eqn.(2) passes through (2, -3) , we substitute x and y value in eqn.(2) to get k
3(2) + 2(-3) = k or k=0
Eqn. of required line is 3x+2y = 0
