Let cost price of one watch be Rs. x
Cost price of second watch is Rs. (840 - x)
Selling price of first watch = 116x/100
Selling price of second watch = 88(840 - x)/100
According to the question,
840 = 116x/100 + 88(840 - x)/100
Solving this we get x = Rs. 360
CP of first watch is Rs. 360 and second watch is 840 - 360 = Rs. 480
