the angle between an incident ray and a plane mirror is 50°. what is the total angle between the incident and reflected ray

As shown in figure , if 50o is the angle between incident ray and plane mirror ,

then angle of incidence , i.e., angle between incident ray and normal is 40o .

Angle of reflection, i.e. angle between normal and reflected ray is 40o .

Hence angle between incident ray and reflected ray is ( 40+40)o = 80o
