Expert Answer

abx^{2}-(a+b)^{2}(x-1)=0

abx^{2}-(a+b)^{2}x+(a+b)^{2}=0

Using quadratic formula,

B^{2}-4AC=(a+b)^{4}-4ab(a+b)^{2}

=(a+b)^{2}[(a+b)^{2}-4ab]

=(a+b)^{2}(a^{2}+b^{2}+2ab-4ab)

=(a+b)^{2}(a-b)^{2}

So, sqrt (B^{2}-4AC)=(a+b)(a-b) =(a^{2}-b^{2})

x=[(a+b)^{2} (a^{2}-b^{2})]/2ab

x=[a^{2}+b^{2}+2ab(a^{2}-b^{2})]/2ab

x=(a+b)/b or x=(a+b)/a
