Sir plz help me solving this question and making me understand that how the horizontal and vertical forces are being calculated here,thanks

As the system is in equilibrium, the tension in the string is given by
T=Mg
Now we will calculate the horizantal and vertical force seperately
Total vertical forces acting on the pulley is
=mg+T(mg is due the mass of the pulley and T is due to tension in the string, both forces acting vertically downwards )
= mg+Mg
 Total horizontal force acting on the pulley is T or Mg( as T=Mg) acting awar from the clamp
Now these two forces are perpendicular to each other and hence the resultant is given by
square root of open parentheses m g plus M g close parentheses squared plus open parentheses M g close parentheses squared end root
Hence the force by the clamp on the pulley is square root of open parentheses m g plus M g close parentheses squared plus open parentheses M g close parentheses squared end root.
