current in the circuit , i = ( 2E ) / [ r1 + r2 + R ]
Voltage across terminals A and B of first cell is zero , hence we get , E - i r1 = 0
E - { 2E / [ r1 + r2 + R ] } r1 = 0
By simplifying above equation, we get, R = r1 - r2
