Side of an equilateral triangle is 8 cm. Without using Heron's Formula can we ind the AREA?

let the triangle be ABC draw a perpendicular from A to BC which will divide the triangle ABC into to equal triangles.
Now in one smal triangle 1 side is 4 and the other one is 8. lets find the length of perpendicular with the help of pythagoras formula
42 + p2 = 82
16 + p2 = 64
p = 48 = 43
now the area of the small triangle is 1/2 x base x height
= 1/2 x 4 x 43
= 83
area of the triangle ABC is = 2 x 83 = 163 = 27.71 cm2
