if nth minimum occurs at a distance y from central maximum,  we have,  y = nλD/a  .............(1)
 
where D = distance between slit and screen = 1 m
and a = slit width = 0.3 mm
 
hence we sunstitute values in eqn.(1),   we have  5×10-3 = 3×λ×1/ ( 0.3×10-3)   or  λ = 5000 A°
