Expert Answer

 to find h and k so that polynomial (x3-h(x2-14x+k) has (x-1)and (x+3) as factors

Using factor thm 1-h(1-14+k) =0 ⇒ 1-13h-kh =0
and -27-h(9+42+k) =0 ⇒-27-51h-kh =0
Solve the equations to get h and k
