This is fact that a color can only be observed it absorbed the light of same spectrum and reflect all other light. Like when we see a object of red color which means it reflects the red spectrum of light and reflect all the other spectrum of light.

In 2nd diagram light spectrum is falling on blue glass so that glass will absorb all light spectrum except the blue one.
