Since OB = OA = AC = BC = radaii of semicircles = 7/2 = 3.5 cm
But BOA = 90,
Hence OACB is a square.
Area of shaded black region = area of sector ACEOA - Area of triangle OAC
= (1/2)(π/2)(3.5)2 - (1/2)(3.5)(3.5)
= 3.49 cm2
Area of overlap is the TWICE OF THIS AREA = 2x3.49 = 6.98 = 7 cm2
Area of the remaining region of the quadrant = Area of quadrant - 2xarea of semicircles - Area of overlap.
= 3.14x7x7 - 2x3.14x3.5x3.5 - 7
= 72.93 cm2
