Expert Answer
Net EMF that driving current through the circuit is 8-4 = 4V.
Effective resistance between A and B due to parallel combinatin of 3Ω and 6Ω = (3×6)/(3+6) = 2Ω
net resistance in the circuit = 0.5+4.5+2+1 = 8Ω. Hence current in the circuit is 4/8 = 0.5A
0.5A will flow through 0.5Ω, 4.5Ω and 1Ω.
potential difference across resistors connected in parallel = 0.5×2 = 1V.
hence current through 3Ω is (1/3) A and current through 6Ω is (1/6)A
A concave lens always gives a virtual, erect and diminished image. Hence, the lens used by the second student is the one which will give such an image.
