Expert Answer:

(a) Red hot iron reacts with steam to form ferrosoferric oxide with the evolution of hydrogen gas.
 3 Fe + 4H2O →  Fe3O4 + 4H2
(b) CuO + H2  → Cu + H2O
In this reaction, hydrogen acts as a reducing agent and reduces copper oxide to copper. This reaction is a reduction reaction.
Cu+2  + 2e-   →  Cu( Reduction)
At the same time, hydrogen is oxidised to water by the oxidising agent copper oxide and this is an oxidation reaction.
2H  - 2e-   → 2H+(Oxidation reaction)
Thus, the net reaction is redox reaction.
(c) When a chemical reaction absorbs heat energy, the reaction is said to be endothermic and the reaction mixture cools down.
