If capacitors of capacitance C and 2C are in parallel, then equivalent capacitance is 3C.
If this equivalant capacitance is charged using battey of EMF V,
then charge Q acquired by capacitors is given as, Q = ( 3C V ) Coulomb ....................(1)
Now after disconnecting battery, if capacitor C is inserted dielectric of dieclectric constant K,
its capacitance becomes ( K C ).
Hence equivalent capacitance of parallel combination is, KC + 2C = ( 2+ K ) C
Since charge remains constant, voltage V' across capacitors, V' = Q / [ ( 2 + K ) C ] ..................(2)
from eqn.(1) and (2), we get, V' = 3V / (2+K)
