t2 = ?
 
We know,
 
by using Graham's law,
 
rate of diffusion is inversally proportional to molar mass.
 
 
straight r subscript 1 over straight r subscript 2 space equals space square root of fraction numerator straight M subscript 2 over denominator straight M 1 end fraction end root
 
Also we have,
 
straight t subscript 2 over straight t subscript 1 equals square root of straight M subscript 2 over straight M subscript 1 end root
 
For He, 
 
t2 = square root of 4 over 2 end root open parentheses 5 close parentheses
t2 =square root of 2 cross times 5 ≠ 10 sec
 
For O2 
 
t2 = square root of 32 over 2 end root cross times space 5
t2 = 20 sec.
 
For CO
 
t2 = square root of 28 over 2 end root cross times 5
t2 =square root of 7 cross times 5
 
t2 ≠25 s
 
For CO2 
 
t2 = square root of 44 over 2 end root cross times 5
 
   = square root of 22 cross times 5
 
t2 ≠ 55 s
 
Therefore option (2) is correct.
