If a capacitor of capacitance 10μF is charged with potential difference 100 V,
then charge acquired by capacitor, Q = C V = 10 μF × 100 V= 1000 μC .

Now after disconnecting battery, if 10 μF capacitor is connetce parallel to another capacitor
so that potential difference across parallel capacitors is 40 V.

Then equivalent capacitance  Ceq = Q / V  = 1000 μC / 40 V = 25 μF

Since the previous capacitor is 10 μF , additional capactor connected parallel is 15 μF
