Expert Answer:

Let Mohan's age = x years

Nita is three years younger than her brother Mohan.

Nita's age = (x - 3) years

5 years ago, three fifths of his age was equal to three fourths of her age.

begin mathsize 16px style 3 over 5 open parentheses straight x minus space 5 close parentheses space equals space fraction numerator begin display style 3 end style over denominator begin display style 4 end style end fraction open parentheses straight x minus space 8 close parentheses end style

After solving above equation, we get

x = 20 years

Therefore,  Mohan's age = 20 years and Nita's age = (x - 3) years = 20 - 3 = 17 years
