How many numbers are there BETWEEN 500 and 1000? (Needed for a probability question)

Directly, you can say the total number of natural numbers between 500 and 1000 are 501.
Method:
500, 501, 502, .... 1000.
Since the difference between the two consecutive numbers are same.
This is an A.P.
Here, a = 500, d = 1 and an = 1000.
an = a + (n - 1)d
→ 1000 = 500 + (n - 1)1
→ 500 = n - 1
→ n = 501
