Directly, you can say the total number of natural numbers between 500 and 1000 are 501.

Method:

500, 501, 502, .... 1000.

Since the difference between the two consecutive numbers are same.

This is an A.P.

Here, a = 500, d = 1 and an = 1000.

an = a + (n - 1)d

→ 1000 = 500 + (n - 1)1
→  500  = n - 1
→  n = 501
