Expert Answer
Following are three important drawbacks of the First War of Independence:
- The war effort of Indians did not have a common plan of military action. Neither was there any able centralised leadership. The uprisings took place in different, distant parts of the country and were completely uncoordinated.
- The rebels had no common goal before them except for their anti foreign sentiments.
- The British had far superior resources at their command in terms of men, money and material.
