Yes.
 
If we see graph of sin we can observe that sin(-y) is on the negative y-axis.
 
OR
 
If we use formula or sin (A + B) we will also get sin (-y) = -siny
sin(-y) = sin(0 - y)
           = sin 0 cos(y) - cos 0 sin y
 
           = 0 - siny 
           = - siny
