Expert Answer

There are 12 hurdles in all i.e. n = 12

Probability of a hurdle cleared = 2/3
Probability that he does not clear the hurdle = 1 – 2/3 = 1/3
P(knock down fewer than 2 hurdles)
= P(He will cross all hurdles) + P(He will not cross 1 hurdle)
