Given: alpha and beta are the roots of polynomial P(x)=x2+x+1
Using the relation between roots and coefficients, we have
straight alpha plus straight beta equals negative 1 space and space αβ equals 1
1 over straight alpha plus 1 over straight beta equals fraction numerator straight alpha plus straight beta over denominator αβ end fraction equals fraction numerator negative 1 over denominator 1 end fraction equals negative 1
