Expert Answer:
There is a difference between a body being at the surface of earth or away from it and it being at the centre of the earth.
At the surface of earth or above all of earth mass attracts it and as we know CG of earth is at it's centre, hence we say that the body will be attracted towards it's centre.
But if the body were to be at the centre of earth it will not experience any gravity since g is zero there.
