i cannot understand what is turning effect of force?

Expert Answer

For producing maximum turning effect on body by given force, the force is applied at a point on a body for which the perpendicular distance of line of action of force from axis of rotation is maximum so that the given force provides the maximum turning effect ( also called torque).
