Simple tissue shows only one type of cells. The cells are all structurally and functionally similar. Example - Parenchyma, collenchyma, sclerenchyma.

Complex tissue shows several types of cells in the same tissue. All these cells coordinate to carry out a common function .Example - xylem and phloem.
