How is resistivity related to temperature?Explain.

Resistivity ρ has linear dependence on temperature T as given below.

where ρo is resistivity at temperature at To = 20o C and α is temperature coefficient .
 
In most conducting metals, the resistivity increases with increasing temperature.
The increasing 
temperature causes increased vibrations of the atoms in the lattice structure of the metals,
which impede the motion of the electrons and increases the  resistivity.
