Sprinklers provide irrigation to the vegetation or are used for recreation or as a cooling system. These provide irrigation water which is similar to natural rainfall. The water is distributed through a system of pipes usually by pumping. It is then sprayed into the air through sprinklers so that it breaks up into small water drops which fall to the ground. This helps in eliminating water conveyance channels thereby reducing water loss. Also, it distributes water more uniformly across the crops that avoid wasting of water. Thus, in this manner sprinklers help in the conservation of water.
