How are permanent tissues related to meristematic tissues?

Expert Answer:

Permanent tissues are developed by the differentiation of the cells produced by meristem. The cells formed by the meristematic tissue take up a permanent size, shape and function and lose their ability to divide. Cells of meristematic tissue differentiate to form different types of permanent tissue.
