Volume is the quantity of a three dimensional space occupied by a substance. ( liquid, solid or gas)
 
Density of a substance is defined as mass of the substance per unit volume.
 
 
Density is the characteristic of a substance.
 
Something that is more dense has more mass in the same amount of space.
 
Example:
Take two blocks, one of wood and the other of iron having same volume.
 
Mass of one cubic meter volume of wood is less than that of the mass of one cubic meter volume of iorn.
That means density of iorn is more than that of wood.
