Following are the two ways in which the tribal movement led by Birsa Munda was significant.
- The movement forced the British government to introduce laws so that tribal lands could not be easily taken over by the dikus or the outsiders.
- Second, the movement demonstrated the fact that the tribal people possessed the capacity to protest against injustice and rebel against the British rule. They did this in their own special way, inventing their own rituals and symbols of struggle.
