The function of the ‘reservoir’ is to meet the deficit which occurs due to an imbalance in the rate of influx and efflux.
Two types of nutrient cycles are gaseous cycles (nitrogen and oxygen cycles) and sedimentary cycles (sulphur and phosphorus cycles).
