if two capacitors C1 and C2 are connected in parallel, equivalent capacitance  Ceq  = C1 + C2
 
if two capacitors C1 and C2 are connected in series, equivalent capacitance Ceq  = begin mathsize 12px style fraction numerator C subscript 1 C subscript 2 over denominator C subscript 1 plus C subscript 2 end fraction end style
Energy stored in capacitor E = begin mathsize 12px style 1 half C V squared end style
In case of series or parallel combination we substitute the equivalent capacitance in the above expression for energy stored
