NEET Class neet Answered
does the gauss law work only for uniform electric field?

Expert Answer
Gauss law works for all electric field, whether it is uniform or not.
It is easy to get electric field intensity using Gauss law when the field is symmetrical , just like field around uniform spherical charge distribution,
field near infinite plate that has uniform charge distribution etc..
Gauss law is valid for any kind of electric field, but manual calculation is difficult if electric field is not symmetrical and uniform
