ICSE Class 7 Answered
Most historians consider Sher Shah Suri as a just ruler because he contributed to the growth of the state by building roads and by encouraging trade and commerce. He constructed roads and inns for the growth of trade and commerce. The 'grand trunk Road' built by him was the famous and the longest road. This road ran from present day Bangladesh to Peshawar (now in Pakistan). One of the greatest contribution of Sher Shah was the introduction of the silver 'rupia' of standard weight which remained in use for several centuries even after his death. His land revenue system was one of his greatest achievements which laid the foundation of revenue system during Akbar's reign.
