CH4 + 2O2 → CO2 + 2H2O
- It is a combustion reaction of methane.
- In this kind of reaction, carbon dioxide and water are always the products.
- Here methane gets oxidised and oxygen gas gets reduced.
- Hence the reaction is oxidation-reduction type of reaction in which methane is reducing agent and oxygen gas is oxidising agent.
